Nations Combine To Show The Work Of Man: 22 nations and international organizations are to take part in the International Labor Exhibition, opening next May 6 in Turin as part of the centennial celebrations of the Italian nation. Each, in a Palace of Labor on the banks of the river Po, will deal with a facet of a central theme, Man at Work, telling of a century of technical and social progress. Here British artists work on part of the British contribution, Scientific Research, charting the progress of international science in the last 100 years. It will cover an area of 15,500 square feet. Top left: Barbara Jones and her huge mural symbolizing the field of social sciences. Top right: William Kempster before part of his also huge mural featuring great names of world science. Bottom left: Willy Wilson and Susan Marsh with their greatly enlarged model of the Drosophils, the minute fruit fly whose hundreds of generations help scientists with problems of heredity. Bottom right: Eduardo Paoluzzi, celebrated sculptor, Scottish born of Italian parents, concentrates on his bronze abstruct entitled No.70. It will be shows in the introductory area of the exhibition’s Applied Science Department.
