A small conch shell mother and corn maiden carved by Sandra Quandelacy. Both maidens have jet inlaid features, turquoise and coral inlaid pendants. Sandra has incised starts and dragonflies all around both maidens then she inlaid them with jet pigment. Maidens symbolize abundance, fertility and feminine energy and the corn maiden is venerated in Zuni for giving up her life for the health of the community.
